The Advantages of Setting up a Personal Tax Account
If you have needed to contact HMRC by phone for personal information or to ask them to make changes, you may have either been on hold for a very long time or not be able to get through at all.
If you have set up a personal tax account, you may be able to skip the phone queues & update/obtain the information yourself.
Some of the processes that you can complete using your personal tax account are as follows:
- check your income from work in the previous 5 years
- check your State Pension
- check or update your Marriage Allowance
- tell HMRC about a change of name or address
- check or update benefits you get from work, for example company car details and medical insurance
